Leadchair is the latest office chair series for Walter Knoll and is exceptional in many ways.
The chair has two faces: the soft padding when looking at it from the front, but a smooth, sleek in its profile. The seat, back, armrests and base are precisely matched and flow logically into one another. The uncovered mechanism is open and was conceived from the beginning as part of the design process and formally treated equally throughout.
Leaning back, the seat slides and bends - the angle between the seat and back opens. Using a freely accessible central spring, the tension of the chair can be adjusted by weight.
The finished chair is the result of a five-year development process, with special attention given to each detail. The padding, pressed and completely seamless, enables the slim silhouette to have maximum comfort. Plasticity, movement and minimalism are the central characteristics of the Leadchair.
